The state of Michigan will be on fire this weekend as the Spartans and Wolverines renew their hated rivalry on Saturday.
Michigan State will travel to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday for a primetime matchup against hated-rival Michigan. The game is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be only the second-ever night game in this historic rivalry.
Both the Spartans and Wolverines enter this game off a bye last week, and looking to build off wins in the week prior. Michigan is a perfect 7-0 on the season, while Michigan State is 3-4 after suffering a four-game losing streak.
Can the Spartans string together enough big plays to knock off the Wolverines yet again on Saturday? Here are our score predictions for Michigan State-Michigan and how we see this Big Ten battle playing out:
Andrew Brewster
Prediction: MSU 35, Michigan 49
Michigan State’s team showed a lot more life against Wisconsin than they had in recent games, but I can’t with a good conscience favor them on the road against a Michigan team that has played well this year. Would love to be surprised, but just can’t predict anything other than a loss for Sparty here.
Cory Linsner
Prediction: MSU 21, Michigan 44
I just can’t bring myself to pick Michigan State in this game. I think the emotions will allow Michigan State to compete early in this game, but I just haven’t seen enough from the offense that lends me to believe MSU will compete against a really good Michigan team for four quarters.
Robert Bondy
Prediction: MSU 20, Michigan 31
Mel Tucker doesn’t lose close games. Every one of his losses at Michigan State has been by double-digits so it’ll either be a comfortable Wolverines victory or massive upset for the Spartans. Like my peers, I don’t think Michigan State has enough in the tank to pull another big upset over their rival. But I hope I’m wrong…
