Megan Waschak has just become a hometown hero in the small city of Battle Creek, Michigan. Alongside two other people, Waschak was able to pull a driver from an accident before the car blew up, but now that all three are scheduled for citizen awards for their bravery, they’re still struggling to find the final person who saved the driver.
Waschak just so happens to be an emergency dispatcher. On Nov. 5, a car hit a pole outside her home on Capital Avenue Northeast, and when Waschak heard all the commotion outside, she left her house and took charge. She ran out and found the car had hit a cement barrier, and a small fire had already started sparking around the vehicle.
