MICHELLE Mone has taken to Twitter/X in a bid to clear her name as she continues to defend herself over the PPE controversy surrounding her and her husband.
It comes after the Tory peer admitted she made an “error” in publicly denying her links to the PPE Medpro firm being investigated by the National Crime Agency.
She told a YouTube documentary that she and her husband Doug Barrowman would be cleared, arguing they have “done nothing wrong”.
In a new post on Twitter/X on Wednesday morning, Mone said: “If I’m being honest, the public probably see me as a horrible person, a liar, or even a cheat.
“But I am none of those things. These last two years have taken a horrendous toll on me personally, and I want to clear my name.”
In the film, which was funded by PPE Medpro, Mone admitted: “I made an error in what I said to the press.
“I regret not saying to the press straight away, ‘yes, I am involved’. And the Government knew I was involved.”
Mone, who was first made a peer by David Cameron (below) in 2015, argued she is being used as a scapegoat by Government for its own Covid failings.
“I am ashamed of being a Conservative peer given what this government has done to us,” she told The Telegraph.

Senior law lecturer at Glasgow Caledonian University Dr Nick McKerrell told The National her admissions mar harm her case “in the court of public opinion” but would not affect the ongoing court case against PPE Medpro.
