Michelle Keegan 'taking break from acting' as filming wraps on Brassic

Michelle Keegan is reportedly set to take a break from acting once Brassic filming wraps later this week.

The actress, 34, has been working non-stop for several years and is said to be planning a well-earned break away from the cameras.

Michelle plays Erin Croft in the smash-hit Sky comedy which has been a hit with viewer and critics alike.

After shooting seasons three and four back to back - in the midst of the ongoing pandemic - the former Coronation Street star is planning to enjoy some time off before taking on her next role.

"Michelle is one of the hardest working actresses in the country. She has been non-stop over the last year and hasn’t really had a breather," a source has claimed to The Sun.

They added that "it hasn't been easy filming during Covid times" and the star is ready for a break.

"She barely had any time off after Our Girl before she started Brassic, but is expected to take a little step back before she announces her next big project," the insider added.

"She just hasn’t decided how long for yet."

The Mirror has contacted representatives for Michelle for comment.

Since rising to fame thanks to her role as Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street back in 2008, the hardworking star has been a frequent face on many popular British TV shows.

After being killed off in the ITV soap in 2014, Michelle has appeared in critically acclaimed dramas such as Ordinary Lies, Our Girl and even taking on the role of Tina Dean in the Bobby - an ITV bipoc based on West Ham footballer Bobby Moore's relationship with his wife.

Michelle's rumoured work hiatus comes as her and husband Mark Wright's dream home finally reaches its completion date.

Mark, 35, and the former soap star have been building their dream home from scratch since buying the original property back in October 2019.

After first starting work on their property from scratch in 2020, the married couple have been hit with multiple delays - as the ongoing pandemic halted construction work over the course of last year.

But the pair's £1.3 million mansion looks like it's almost ready to be lived in.

Last month, Mark and Michelle took followers of their joint property Instagram account on a tour of their future home - with the former TOWIE star even pulling a pint in what will be the couple's bar area.

While the reality TV star turned radio presenter has been taking the lead on the construction side of things, Mark has revealed Michelle will be the one taking control of the interior design.

The Essex native told Entertainment Daily previously that although the pair have "a similar sense of style", the Brassic star will be the one who gets the final say when adding the finishing touches.

"I’d rather it that way because then I don’t get blamed if anything goes wrong!" he joked.
