Michail Antonio's First Words After Car Crash Are Revealed

The first words from Michail Antonio after his car crash have reportedly been revealed by a dog walker who drove past the scene of the accident.

The West Ham star crashed his Silver Ferrari in Epping Forest, Essex on Saturday. He was trapped for more than 45 minutes as fire crews attempted to free him from his car – with pictures showing the right side of the vehicle had been ripped off.

West Ham confirmed on Saturday night that Antonio was in a stable condition after being airlifted to hospital. A further statement on Sunday confirmed that he had undergone surgery on a fractured leg.

Dog Walker Reveals Antonio’s First Words After Car Crash

As reported by The Sun, Samuel Woods was driving home after walking his dog in Epping Forest when he came across the scene of the accident.

They claim that Michail Antonio’s first words after his car crash were: “Where am I? What’s going on? What car am I in?

Woods said that he previously said ‘hello’ to Antonio to see if ‘anyone was alive’.

He added: “I heard sirens and told him that help was on its way. He was so disorientated.

“The paramedics got there really fast. I couldn’t believe what happened. The car smelt of petrol.”

Woods went on to add that Antonio struggled to make sense out of what Woods was telling him.

Woods said: “I looked at him and thought, ‘He’s in big trouble’.

“I just said, ‘You’ve had an accident’. He didn’t reply,  He was looking around trying to make sense of what I just said. He was sitting in the passenger side.”

West Ham’s Statement On Sunday

The Hammers in their most recent statement on Sunday said: “West Ham can confirm Michail Antonio has undergone surgery on a lower limb fracture following a road traffic accident on Saturday afternoon.

“Michail will continue to be monitored in hospital over the coming days. Everyone at the Club wishes Michail a speedy recovery and wishes to express its sincere gratitude to the football family at large for the overwhelming support shown since yesterday’s news, as well as extending a heartfelt thank you to the emergency services and first responders who attended to Michail in the immediate aftermath of the incident, and the medical team who continue to aid him in his recovery.”

Essex Police confirmed they were launching an investigation into the incident that occurred just before 1pm on Coppice Row in Epping and called for witnesses to help their investigation.

It is not known how long Antonio will be out of action, though The Guardian have reported that he could be out of action for at least a year.

West Ham meanwhile will be in action on Monday night against Wolves.
