Michail Antonio opens up on West Ham future amid Wolves and Everton transfer links

West Ham United striker Michail Antonio has spoken out on his future at the London Stadium amid links with a potential January exit.

The Jamaican international, who is West Ham’s all-time leading scorer in Premier League history with 58 goals, has struggled for regular starts in the league this season, playing second fiddle to Italian international striker Gianluca Scamacca, who joined the club for £30.5million from Sassuolo in the summer.

His lack of game time and bids for strikers Terem Moffi and Danny Ings from Lorient and Aston Villa respectively have led to links between him and a potential summer exit, with Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers both credited with an interest in the 32-year-old.

Speaking out on his future, Antonio has said that while he is focussed on West Ham at present, he admits his and Scamacca’s form this season may lead to an exit, something he has not ruled out wanting to do.

"There are always rumours in football,” Antonio told the Footballers’ Football Podcast. “People have seen I have not been playing much recently and they've seen that we've been struggling. It's one of those things where all I do is pay attention to myself and make sure I can play whenever I get the opportunity.

"My agent deals with all that and if something happens, something happens. Right now, I'm at West Ham and I have to pay attention to that. If something changes, it changes. We've got a striker in and are maybe looking at other strikers because, right now, we're not doing it.

"If they [West Ham] don't want me or Gianluca [Scamacca], they are going to try and get someone out or they might want to have three options. You have to deal with whatever comes your way and that's how I stand with it. I want to play football, and that's all I care about."
