West Ham striker Michail Antonio has explained why Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk is the best player he’s faced in his career.
Antonio moved to West Ham from Nottingham Forest in 2015, and Liverpool have often been on the receiving end of the striker’s goals. In total, the 21-year-old has scored five goals in his 12 appearances against the Reds.
The most recent goal Antonio scored against Liverpool came in February 2019, when the Reds were held to a 1-1 draw with the Hammers. That stalemate came as Jurgen Klopp’s side went on to miss out on the Premier League title by one point to Manchester City, despite achieving a 97-point haul.

Sky Sports have interviewed Antonio and one of the questions was about the best player that he has come up against. In quick time, the West Ham star named Van Dijk as his best opponent.
“Virgil van Dijk. Mate, he’s got everything,” Antonio told Sky Sports Premier League’s Youtube channel.
“He’s quick, he’s strong, he’s good looking, he’s got it all.
“I can’t say a bad word about him. He’s got everything.”
