Michael Vaughan has claimed that Ben Stokes is the "only" person who should take over from Joe Root as England Test captain.
Root has resigned as skipper after a disastrous run of results which culminated in a series defeat to the West Indies last month. And Stokes is widely viewed as his most likely successor, given he is one of few players guaranteed a spot in the side if fit and has previously filled in as captain.
In his latest column in the Telegraph, Vaughan backed Stokes to get the job, writing: "There is only one person that should take over the Test team now and that is Ben Stokes. When someone takes over the mantle, you have got no idea what they will be like.
