Michael Strahan delivers message to Giants: Go win a title

Former New York Giants defensive end and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Michael Strahan, has moved on to a very active media career since retiring from the NFL.

However, that hasn’t stopped Strahan from being around the team where he spent the entirety of his 15-year career.

Strahan, of course, walked away from football as a champion following the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII victory over the then-undefeated New England Patriots.

Strahan stopped by Giants facilities on Thursday to address the current team. His visit followed the Giants’ victory on New Year’s Day over the Indianapolis Colts, which clinched their first postseason trip since 2016.

Strahan was also spotted with Kayvon Thibodeaux, who he began mentoring shortly after the Giants selected him in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft.

Strahan also delivered a message to the veterans on the team, encouraging them to learn from the young players and coaches.

“Strahan, actually this year, came into our meeting room one time and told us even when he was in year 10 or something like that, he was still learning from the young guys coming in. No matter where you’re at in your career, you can always learn something. I feel like it was cool to hear that from Strahan because I really have learned a lot this year from Dex and also from Coach (Andre Patterson),” Williams told reporters.

Having a legend like Strahan around can only have a positive impact on the team. Even if the Giants are just one-and-done in the postseason, they have made big steps forward to show they are moving in the right direction.

However, the ultimate goal for general manager Joe Schoen and the new regime is to eventually hoist the trophy just like Strahan’s Giants did back in 2007.
