Michael Stewart has blasted Rangers over their move to write to the SFA demanding an explanation over the decision to disallow Alfredo Morelos’ strike in their Old Firm derby defeat on Saturday.
Referee Kevin Clancy adjudged the Colombian to have committed a foul on Celtic’s Alistair Johnston as they battled for the ball at a corner and the goal was ruled out. That has since seen Clancy come under fire, with the SFA referring a number of abusive messages directed at the whistler to the police.
On the issue of the Morelos strike, the SFA responded to the Ibrox side to say it was the correct call which Rangers said in a statement had left them “astonished” with many pundits and former players disagreeing since the storm that has followed. And BBC pundit Stewart took to his own Twitter account to say: “Rangers level of entitlement is incredible. Writing letters wanting explanations and apologies for one perceived mistake. I must have missed the numerous other clubs letters this season. St.J must surely have done it after their game at Ibrox…..”
