When the Washington Huskies take on the Texas Longhorns in the Alamo Bowl Thursday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr.’s people will be there — no matter what.
Southwest Airlines’ recent run of weather-related flight cancellations did not stop Ms. Penix and her family from getting to see him play.
Thanks to @SouthwestAir for canceling my flight to see my son play in the @valeroalamobowl 🤬
They need to do better. That won't stop us, #Roadtrip FL-TX. They owe us some $$$ pic.twitter.com/pVHk5fOmdV— Mrs. Penix 🇯🇲 (@his_star4life) December 28, 2022
We made it to our destination. Time to party. What's there to do tonight for the DAWGs?

It’s been quite a season for Penix, the Indiana transfer who completed 330 of 500 passes for 4,354 yards, 29 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in his first season with the Huskies. Washington has posted a 10-2 record in 2022, its best mark since going 12-2 in 2016.
And now, Penix’s family will see his season finale… because they just wanted it more.
