Michael Owen believes that Leeds United's clash with Norwich City is their 'biggest game of the season' as they prepare to host Dean Smith's side on Sunday afternoon.
This is after the Whites stretched their winless run to eight matches following a frustrating 3-0 defeat against Aston Villa at Elland Road, with Phillipe Coutinho, Matty Cash and Callum Chambers all scoring for the visitors.
After a positive performance at Leicester City in Marsch's first game in charge, there was some optimism that Leeds take confidence into the clash with Villa and record a better result.
However, it was a dismal showing from the Whites, who allowed Villa to dominate from the off and take home all three points. The defeat leaves Leeds in 16th, just two points above the bottom three.
It only makes this weekend's visit of Norwich all the more important. The Canaries currently sit bottom of the table and have failed to win any of their last six matches.
Owen feels that this game could have huge consequences on the relegation picture and believes Leeds must go and 'stop the rot', having suffered some damaging losses of late.
He told Amazon Prime Sport: "Leeds have got to stop the rot. It’s a must-win game on Sunday.
"If Norwich lose, I think they’re down. If Leeds lose, where do they go from there? Their confidence will be rock bottom.
"You can't help keep looking at that fixture at the weekend against Norwich, wow, I don't think there's been a bigger game this season."
