Former striker Michael Owen believes that Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus would be talked about more if Erling Haaland didn't make the switch to Manchester City this summer. Both forwards have enjoyed an emphatic start to the season, however it is the latter that has scored a plethora of goals early on.
Comparatively, Jesus has scored four from his opening seven games, though his all-round play has made him a crucial aspect to every phase of play for the Gunners. His willingness to press as well as operate in areas that aren't the penalty box has made the £45million paid to City seem like a bargain.
On what the Brazilian brings to the club, manager Mikel Arteta said: "I think it lifts the standards with the way he's training every day and the way that he's talking and the way that they [the team] are connecting."

While there has been plenty of acclaim for Jesus so far as one of the best signings of the summer, Haaland has certainly taken the majority of the plaudits. The Norwegian joined for roughly £54million as part of a release clause deal with Borussia Dortmund, following in his dad's footsteps to join Man City.
So far, the 22-year-old has scored 11 goals in seven Premier League games, bettering a rate of one goal every game so far. It's led Owen to believe that his form has stopped many from talking about the star signing of Arsenal this summer.
Speaking on Premier League productions, he said: "Imagine if Erling Haaland hadn’t been signed this season, we would be talking so much about this guy [Gabriel Jesus] because he has been brilliant since he came to Arsenal and scoring plenty of goals.”
Both will be hopeful of keeping up their early season form, considering they were both amongst the favourites to win the Golden Boot this season. However, there's few things stopping Haaland at this point, who has made an unstoppable start to his career in England.
