Former Liverpool and Man United footballer, Michael Owen has apologised to fans and viewers of The Masked Singer after he was unveiled as the singing doughnuts on the show.
The 42-year-old pundit was sent home after he rapped Everybody Get Up by the boyband Five and was the second celeb to be eliminated in the sixth episode, after actress Jaime Winstone who was disguised as Firework.

After his big reveal on the show, the former Flintshire schoolboy apologised to those who'd had to listen to him for all these weeks.
He tweeted: "Finally I can apologise for burning your ears these last few weeks.
"My kids badgered me into doing @MaskedSingerUK but I have to say it was a great experience and a whole lot of fun.
"Still can’t believe I got past round one!"
On the show Michael also delivered renditions of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger, the Spice Girls hit Spice Up Your Life and Sweet Caroline under the guise of Dougnuts.
Fans on Twitter responded to his apology in good spirits with @_dave_heron replied: "Hahahaaaa! I loved your performances each week! Me and Mam were really entertained by you! "You sang her Favourite Neil Diamond Song!
"Still smile watching your Spice Up your Life performance! Fair play! I enjoyed you each week!"
While @RedDevilWazza said: "Your voice was just so clearly you, it’s been fun laughing at the people who couldn’t tell it was you!
"Well done Michael, think you probably won a few new fans as you were a good laugh."
@TheRhodri wrote: "Michael Owen on the Masked Singer is absolutely the energy we all need at the moment. Saturday night television perfection."
And some fans were in awe that the footy legend was even on the show, @aeg1293 tweeted: "Naaaah I was convinced Michael Owen would never have done The Masked Singer, never mind dressed as doughnuts!" While @HarryFan4Life_ commented: "Never thought I'd see the day where you'd have Michael Owen dressed as doughnuts singing everybody get up by Five on TV."
