Michael Gove's plan to sell off London's ageing prisons in radical jail reform was axed by Liz Truss

A plan to demolish London’s Victorian jails and move inmates out of the capital in a radical prison reform was scrapped when Liz Truss became Justice Secretary, Michael Gove has revealed.

Gove drew up proposals to shutdown aging prisons such as Wormwood Scrubs, Wandsworth, and Brixton, to sell the land off for new homes and commercial buildings.
