Michael Gove has said “at least tens of thousands” of homes in the UK are unsafe to live in, after the tragic death of a two-year-old due to poor housing conditions.

Speaking on Thursday, the Housing and Levelling Up Secretary said a large number of homes need urgent repair and maintenance as they do not meet adequate living standards.
