Through a combination of traditional genealogical research and DNA analysis, it was revealed that Douglas and Johansson share four identical strands of chromosomes, making them distant cousins. These chromosomes all originate from Johansson's maternal side of the family, which has Jewish ancestry from Eastern Europe.
