Nottingham Forest hero Michael Dawson was asked to choose between Brennan Johnson and dad David while on punditry duty for Sky Sports.
Brennan has followed in striker David’s footsteps by becoming a key player for the Reds. Johnson was prolific in his five-and-a-half-year spell at the City Ground as the Reds chased promotion to the Premier League.
Having achieved what his dad couldn't quite manage, Brennan is now looking to help Forest stay in the top-flight. But which Johnson is the better? That was question put to Dawson, who was David’s boot-cleaner as a Reds youngster, by Soccer Saturday colleague Paul Merson.

“David was unbelievable when we got into the play-offs, him and Marlon Harewood, 20-plus Championship goals,” recalled Dawson.
“Going back to last season, I shared a dressing room with Brennan, he was one of the reasons I decided it was time to retire and come and sit with you, Merse!
“He was one of the reasons they got promoted, he was phenomenal going forward. They haven’t scored enough [this season].”
Dawson then took the conversation in a different direction, highlighting the importance of Sunday’s game against relegation rivals Everton. He added: “If Everton lose this game, they’re in major, major trouble. But if Forest lose, they’re only four points above the relegation zone.
“They’ve picked up a point against Man City at home, beaten Leeds at home. To lose 4-0 at West Ham last week will have hurt. They’ve got a terrible away record but at home they’re unbeaten in eight.”
Pressed again on the Johnson vs Johnson question, Dawson finally answered: “Sorry, I never answered. I think Brennan is going to be.”
