During a recent trial, Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass shed light on the legal work done by Michael Cohen in 2018 compared to the previous year. Steinglass pointed out that Cohen likely completed more legal work in the first three months of 2018 than he did throughout the entirety of 2017. However, despite this increased workload, Cohen did not receive any payment in 2018.
Steinglass raised a pertinent question, asking why Cohen wasn't compensated for his legal services in 2018 if he was still actively engaged in such work. The prosecutor explained that once reimbursement was made, the payments to Cohen ceased.
Furthermore, Steinglass highlighted an interesting comparison, noting that Cohen spent more time being cross-examined during the trial than he did providing legal services for Donald Trump in 2017. This observation underscores the shift in Cohen's legal activities and financial arrangements between the two years.
