Kyly Clarke has shared a tribute to Shane Warne after his devastating death at age 52.

The cricketing legend died from a suspected heart attack on Friday after enjoying a lads' holiday to Thailand with a group of friends.

Celebrity pals, admirers and sports fans rushed to pay tribute to the Aussie, who was renowned for his headline-grabbing antics both on and off the pitch.

The 40-year-old ex-wife of cricketer Michael Clarke, 40, posted to her Instagram Stories on Saturday to pay tribute to Shane.

"So very very sad to hear this news this morning," the TV star wrote alongside a photo of Warne.

"I'm in shock, can't believe this just happened. Life can be so short, so unpredictable, hug tight and spend all the time you can with those you love," she added.

Kyly also took to Twitter to share some words after Shane's sad passing.

"Don't lose what you can't replace," she penned.

Michael and Shane Warne played cricket together for Australia and were great friends.

It comes after Elizabeth Hurley responded to the news of her former fiancé Shane's shock death.

The Austin Powers actress took to her Instagram page to share some of her favourite pictures of her time with the cricketer.

In a short but sweet message, Liz wrote: "I feel like the sun has gone behind a cloud forever. RIP my beloved Lionheart."

Her friend Elton John, who grew close to the sportsman through his friendship with Liz, said Friday was a 'tragic day for Australian cricket', as he also referenced the death of Rod Marsh, who died this week at the age of 74.

"Two legends passing is heartbreaking. I knew them both and played cricket with Rod in Perth. A very special and fearless man.

"Shane was a magical bowler and such huge fun. They were both Australians through and through, which made them so endearing.

On Friday the world of cricket was left reeling when news emerged that Shane had died at the age of 52.

The news was confirmed by his management company who released a brief statement to reporters.

“It is with great sadness we advise that Shane Keith Warne passed away of a suspected heart attack in Koh Samui, Thailand today, Friday 4 March.

"Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived. The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course.”
