Michael Beale has been told in no uncertain terms that finishing second to Celtic is like 'finishing last' in Glasgow.
The Rangers boss admitted his disappointment at his third straight game against Ange Postecoglou's men without a win in a thrilling 3-2 derby at Celtic Park. His captain James Tavernier netted a landmark 99th and then 100th goal with no away fans to cheer, but deadly Kyogo Furuhashi and some costly Rangers errors allowed Postecoglou's side to all-but seal the title with a win.
Beale pointed to Rangers' form post-match, especially as they have lost just two games since his arrival, and claimed there were 'two good teams' in the city. But former Hibs striker Tam McManus isn't buying it and reckons the Englishman must learn that 'second is nowhere'.

He told PLZ Soccer: "I think Michael needs to realise that finishing second is like finishing last in Glasgow. It doesn't matter if they beat all the rest of the teams, if they fail to beat Celtic and Celtic win everything.
"There are two good football teams in this country but that doesn't carry any gravitas if you don't win anything. It's OK saying they've only not won six games in 100, who were the six games against? Probably Celtic, most of them.
"I get where he's coming from but he needs to learn that second is nowhere here and you've got to beat Celtic."
