Michael Beale has hit back at critics who claimed Rangers were outplayed by Motherwell last weekend.
The Ibrox manager has spoken out about those who have suggested the Fir Park outfit were in control against his team during the 1-0 win for his side on Sunday.
Sections of the home faithful booed the team off the park after an unconvincing performance during the victory.
Since then, many pundits have concluded that Stuart Kettlewell's side, who have impressed greatly in recent times, were unlucky not to take a point from the match.
Beale was very critical of his players in the aftermath of the game too, insisting they did not perform well enough.
But the Englishman has knocked back the notion that the better side lost.
Speaking after his side's 4-0 win over Livingston in the Viaplay Cup, he said: “I just think we have to win football games. It’s four games now, it’s another clean sheet. I don’t know where the rubbish came at the weekend that Motherwell were the better team at the weekend.
"Look at the stats. But I was right to say we were poor in possession. Tonight we were better and we deserved to win.
"When you ask teams to play three games in seven days, then four in ten, the entertainment energy levels are going to go down. I think for us it’s to just keep winning.
"Look at the list of players who are out [with Danilo, Todd Cantwell, Nicolas Raskin, Rabbi Matondo and Tom Lawrence all missing]. They are the players who bring guile and style. I thought first half Sam Lammers played well, I thought Abdallah [Sima] was eye-catching.”
Meanwhile, Beale also addressed Alex Lowry's situation at Hearts after the semi-final draw for the League Cup.
Rangers will face Hampden at Hearts in early November for a spot in the final of the competition.
Lowry netted a stoppage-time winner over Kilmarnock in the quarters on Tuesday night - but he will not be allowed to play in the next round.
Beale said: "Alex Lowry our boy went there and scored a fantastic finish so I’m delighted for him and he won’t be able to play.
"I went to see him at the weekend and Steven has done a good job and both semi-finals look like fantastic games on paper. It’s exciting.”
