Leading pundit Micah Richards is utterly convinced Ange Postecoglou will earn more A-list links with Chelsea monitoring him.
The Celtic boss has been a roaring success in Glasgow's east end with three trophies secured and his side are in prime position to add two more. And Richards – through close pal Joe Hart – knows all about the ability of the Australian who has earned acclaim for bringing glory based on an eye–catching playing style.
Mauricio Pochettino is the hot favourite to take the reins at Stamford Bridge, however, Richards views Postecoglou as a bonafide contender for the biggest jobs in world football. Speaking in his Daily Mail column, he said: “It was interesting to see Ange Postecoglou linked with the Chelsea job, I spoke to Joe Hart shortly after he joined Celtic in August 2021 and he raved about his new manager, particularly about his character and outlook on life.
“He plays brave football and Joe said nothing flusters him. It is only a matter of time before a club here takes a plunge on him.”
Callum McGregor revealed after Saturday's draw with Motherwell he hopes the man in charge sticks around for the long haul but conceded admiring glances are no surprise for a manager who has now thrived on three continents.
