Micah Richards has made a 'scary' prediction about Manchester City this season following their start to the Premier League campaign. Despite losing the Community Shield to Liverpool, Pep Guardiola's side have clicked back into winning form as the league schedule gets underway.
Comfortable victories over West Ham and AFC Bournemouth ensured that the Blues started their title defence with maximum points. City travel to St James' Park on Sunday to face Newcastle United. The north-east club have invested heavily this summer and will be hoping Eddie Howe can push them towards Europe in 2022/23.
Ahead of the game on Sky Sports, Richards expressed his delight at City's opening results and gave his prediction for the Blues. "We’ve played here many times and the fans have got right behind them (Newcastle)," the ex-defender said.

"Even with the investment that’s come in, you still have to get the right players in and build the right momentum. Eddie Howe has done that brilliantly.
"In terms of City, normally they start playing really well in November/December, so to hit the ground running, they’re going to be a scary team. The signing of [Erling] Haaland has made them a different team.
"I expect a great game, but Newcastle is never easy to come to." Should Guardiola's side walk away victorious today, they will be level with Arsenal on maximum points following their victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.
