Micah Richards has claimed that Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United are all still competing for a place in the top four of the Premier League.
The comments came in the wake of United's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, leaving Ralph Rangnick's side a point behind Arsenal, but with the Gunners also boasting three games in hand on their old enemy.
While Liverpool and City continue to fight for the title, the chasing pack have set their sights on next season's Champions League.
West Ham and Tottenham will still harbour hopes of breaking into the places themselves while Richards also insisted that Thomas Tuchel's side will be looking over their shoulder, despite beating Burnley 4-0 on Saturday.
"I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone’s making out at United," he said in his post-match analysis on Sky Sports.
"But I’d pick Arsenal at the moment. They’ve got momentum. Chelsea could be looking over their shoulder at this rate."
Prior to United's emphatic defeat to City, Arsenal saw off a spirited Watford 3-2 at Vicarage Road, strengthening their own claim to that final spot in the top four.
With a game in hand over Chelsea, Mikel Arteta's side could move to within two points of the Blues as well, but the Spaniard is remaining tight-lipped when it comes to their chances.
“To be fair, I don’t like to look at the table a lot because we have games in hand, we’re going to play different fixtures and I know the objective and it’s only one, to try and improve tomorrow on what we’ve done today and go into the next match and that’s it," he told his press conference after the Watford clash.
“I cannot control results and I cannot predict which matches we are going to win, draw or lose, it’s impossible. If I start to do that I think we’re going to lose focus in what we want to do.”
