Micah Richards laughs as Roy Keane lays into Manchester United following derby defeat

Micah Richards struggled to hold back the laughter in the Sky Sports studio as Roy Keane slammed Manchester United players after their 4-1 loss in the Manchester Derby.

Former Red Devils skipper Keane didn't mince his words as he questioned the desire of Ralf Rangnick's players after United's humbling defeat at the Etihad.

Analysing the performance, the Cork native ranted: "The worst thing you could say is they gave up. Unforgivable really. We saw United's shortcomings today, but there are ways to lose football matches.

"There are five or six players on that team that should never play for Man United again.

"Players not putting in performances, not running back. They threw the towel in, which is shameful."

He went on to add: "These guys think it's all about how am I looking, am I looking the part? Are my boots nice? How's my hair looking? Just play the game."

After that rant, ex-City full-back Richards burst into laughter but Keane didn't look amused - and TV viewers were loving the back-and-forth.

One tweeted: "Roy Keane should be on comedy gold he is that good. Haven't laughed so much since Ross tried to pivot in Friends."

While a disgruntled United fan wrote: "Class from Roy Keane and absolutely spot on. Wish some of the players had shown a fraction of his passion today."

Another disappointed Red Devils supported observed: "Roy Keane looks like a man who just can’t believe he ever played for this football club. We are unrecognisable…"

And an amused viewer added: "Roy Keane is box office. I love it."

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring at the Etihad but United rallied and found an equaliser through Jadon Sancho.

De Bruyne struck again to leave Pep Guardiola's men 2-1 ahead at half-time, before Riyad Mahrez notched a brace in the second half.
