Micah Parsons Supports Tyreek Hill’s MVP Case With Odd Dolphins Claim

Could the 2023 NFL season be the year of the non-quarterback MVP?

The last non-quarterback to win the award was Vikings running back Adrian Peterson in 2012, but Cowboys star linebacker Micah Parsons believes Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill deserves MVP recognition.

On Tuesday, Parsons pitched his MVP case for Hill in humorous fashion, implicitly indicating he could do Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's job.

"I am talking crazy right now ... I truly believe I could be Tyreek Hill's quarterback," Parsons said on The Edge with Micah Parsons, his podcast with Bleacher Report. "I could throw it up to Tyreek Hill. ... This might be the crazy Madden side of me, but he's just that good."

Through 12 games, Hill leads the league with 1,481 receiving yards and is averaging 123.4 receiving yards per contest, which would rank fourth in NFL history if it holds. Hill is on pace to rack up an NFL-record 2,098 receiving yards over 17 games this season.

To double down on his quarterback take, Parsons also shouted out 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel and running back Christian McCaffrey as being similarly gifted—such that Parsons could step in under center and simply let them cook.

"If I get the ball to Christian McCaffrey in space, he's gonna make something happen. He's gonna make a play for me," Parsons said. "Same thing with Deebo."

Parsons concluded by calling Hill his "focal point" for MVP, an award no wide receiver has ever won.
