Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill was at the center of a contentious traffic stop outside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, before the team's game on Sunday. The incident, which sparked a national debate on the appropriateness of the police officers' actions, led to Hill being pulled from his sports car by Miami-Dade County police.
During the traffic stop, Hill, 30, was handcuffed and forced to the ground despite expressing discomfort due to a knee injury. He was eventually released after receiving citations for careless driving and failing to wear his seat belt. Following the altercation, Hill went on to catch an 80-yard touchdown pass during the Dolphins' victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
