It was a landmark day for Mexican soccer as Julián Quiñones, Scarlett Camberos and Club América Femeníl were all included in the 2026 Ballon d’Or shortlist of nominees.

The full list of nominees for the 2026 Men’s and Women’s Ballon d’Or awards were officially announced on Tuesday, and for the first time ever, two Mexican players and a Mexican club featured on the list of the most prestigious awards ceremony in the sport.
