Mexican television producer Luis de Llano was detained in Mexico City for failing to comply with court-ordered remedies in the civil case brought by singer and former Timbiriche member Sasha Sokol, authorities and her legal team said.
The detention was not a criminal arrest for sexual abuse. It was an administrative enforcement measure ordered after De Llano allegedly refused to record a public apology and publish a summary of the final judgment that found him civilly liable for moral damages against Sokol.
Officers from the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat detained De Llano Wednesday evening and transported him to the San Fernando Center for Administrative Sanctions and Social Reintegration, according to Proceso.
The Secretariat confirmed it carried out a 15-hour arrest order issued by a Mexico City Superior Court judge. Sokol's attorneys said the judge had issued two separate 15-hour orders, potentially totaling 30 hours, for two distinct violations of the judgment.
According to the singer's legal representatives, De Llano has refused to record an apology addressed to Sokol and submit it to the court. They also accused him of failing to publish a court-approved summary explaining the judgment and his responsibility for the moral damages suffered by the singer.
The arrest orders followed months of noncompliance, ignored fines and repeated judicial demands, the legal team said. Mexican law allows judges to impose enforcement measures ranging from financial penalties to administrative detention of up to 36 hours to compel compliance with court orders.
Sokol's attorneys also warned that continued defiance could eventually constitute a separate criminal offense carrying a possible prison sentence of up to five years. No such criminal charge had been announced as of Thursday.
The detention represents the latest development in a legal battle that began publicly in 2022, when Sokol described the relationship De Llano maintained with her while serving as her producer and manager. She said she was 14 and he was 39 when it began.
De Llano had previously acknowledged that a relationship existed but rejected accusations that he had committed a crime. His public comments prompted Sokol to describe the relationship as abusive, manipulative and shaped by a profound imbalance of age and professional power.
Sokol filed a civil lawsuit for moral damages, sexual violence and violations of her privacy. In May 2023, a Mexico City court ruled in her favor. De Llano challenged the decision, but the judgment was upheld on appeal.
In June 2025, Mexico's Supreme Court unanimously rejected De Llano's request for constitutional protection, known as an amparo, leaving the civil judgment in place. The decision established an important precedent by determining that civil claims seeking compensation for damages caused by childhood sexual abuse cannot be barred simply because many years have passed.
Imposing such a deadline would damage victims' right to access justice and obtain compensation, the court concluded. The ruling acknowledged that survivors may need years or even decades to understand, process and disclose abuse experienced during childhood.
The final judgment ordered De Llano to compensate Sokol, issue a public apology, refrain from discussing the case publicly and complete measures related to the prevention of sexual abuse. Sokol has said she plans to donate the financial compensation to an organization that assists survivors.
The current detention centers specifically on the apology and publication of the judgment's summary, according to reports from La Jornada .
De Llano recently argued that unresolved legal filings prevented him from delivering the apology. Sokol's legal team disputes that position, describing the Supreme Court's ruling as final and no longer subject to appeal.
