Met’s Mandelson investigation ‘could stall’ over unreleased US files

The Metropolitan Police investigation into Lord Peter Mandelson over allegations he shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein is reportedly at risk of stalling.
Scotland Yard has submitted a formal request to US authorities for unredacted Epstein files, but neither the FBI nor the Department of Justice has yet released the documents.
Lord Mandelson was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office over claims he passed market-sensitive information to Epstein while serving as business secretary.
The unredacted files are considered crucial to the probe, creating fears that the investigation could collapse if access is not granted by US authorities.
US officials said that they have not refused assistance and are following established legal procedures for international evidence sharing.
