Metallica boldly paid tribute to local hero Sir Tom Jones by reviving a hit previously banned at the same venue

Metallica surprised fans by performing Sir Tom Jones’ controversial hit Delilah at the same venue where choirs were barred from singing the song three years earlier.

The Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) announced in 2023 that due to the lyrics depicting a woman named Delilah being stabbed to death after her husband discovers she's been cheating, the 1968 Ivor Novello award-winning tune was no longer allowed to be played before games at Cardiff Principality Stadium.
