During his visit to South Korea, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg engaged in discussions with LG Electronics executives regarding cooperation on extended reality devices. This visit marks Zuckerberg's first trip to South Korea in approximately a decade and is part of his three-nation Asian tour, which includes Japan and India.

Zuckerberg met with LG Electronics CEO William Cho to delve into business strategies and considerations for extended reality, also known as XR, device development. LG expressed a keen interest in Meta's advanced technology demonstrations, particularly focusing on Meta's large language models and potential on-device AI integration.

LG aims to enhance its XR ventures through strategic collaboration with Meta, which encompasses augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, and related technologies. The meeting between Zuckerberg and Cho signifies a step towards potential partnerships in the XR technology space.

Additionally, Zuckerberg also met with Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong during his time in South Korea. His upcoming meeting with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol is scheduled for Thursday, further solidifying his engagements with key business and government leaders in the region.

Experts suggest that Meta's collaboration with Samsung and LG is crucial, given their status as top-level tech companies outside the United States. These partnerships hold significance for both parties, as Meta seeks to expand its global reach and product offerings, while Samsung and LG benefit from aligning with a tech giant like Meta.

During his recent visit to Tokyo, Zuckerberg met with Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to discuss AI and the future of technology. He expressed excitement about the technological advancements in Japan and the productive conversations held during his visit.

As Zuckerberg continues his Asian tour, which blends business engagements with personal experiences, his interactions with key industry players in South Korea and upcoming visit to India for a high-profile wedding ceremony indicate a strategic focus on fostering partnerships and exploring new opportunities in the region.
