A Metropolitan Police officer has been sacked after failing to tell his employer about a gun possession probe and for being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
PC Mohammad Bhatti said he had “misunderstood” the wording of the vetting form in 2020 and didn’t remember being arrested after crashing his car into a railing in August 2008. The disgraced officer was dismissed without notice for gross misconduct and barred from ever becoming a cop again following a misconduct hearing in December.
