A police officer who was arrested on suspicion of dealing class A drugs has been dismissed from the force.

Rasvinder Agalliu had been in the Metropolitan Police’s central west command unit for almost 20 years and was reportedly a budding beauty queen away from her day job.

She was not ultimately charged with drug offences but was found to have breached the standards of professional behaviour.

Officers raided her house on June 25, 2020, finding class A drugs, drugs paraphernalia, a large quantity of cash and a Metropolitan Police radio.

Then on October 25 of the same year, officers searched her former house to find a large number of cannabis plants under cultivation. They also seized handcuffs, items of uniform and a set of case papers and interview discs relating to Ms Agalliu’s investigation of an offence.

Ms Agalliu was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs although the Crown Prosecution Service decided the case did not meet the evidential threshold for prosecution.

Instead, a panel with an independent legally-qualified chairman determined that Ms Agalliu should be dismissed without notice from the Met.

Chief superintendent Owain Richards of the central west command unit said: “This officer’s actions were a gross breach of the trust afforded to them by the people of London.

"Ms Agalliu has quite rightly been dismissed and there is no place in the Met for officers who behave in this way.

"We are determined to get rid of any officer who fails to meet our standards and ensure that they can never work in law enforcement again.”

She will now be added to the barred list held by the College of Policing and will be blocked from being employed by any policing body or the fire service.
