If you've got plans over the bank holiday, then you may be anxiously checking the weather forecast to see whether drizzle will rain on your parade.
While the weather in the North East may be a bit wet over the coming week, the forecast for the bank holiday weekend is much better. The Met Office said that conditions will become more "settled" across the UK from Friday bringing "fine and dry weather" to most places.
However, in the north and particularly in the northwest there will be some light showers and further thundery showers are also possible across the south and southeast. Cooler air will develop in the north but towards the start of September, fine and dry weather is likely to prevail for most.
