The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Nottinghamshire as heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected. The weather warning is in place from 11.30am on Thursday, May 11, until 7pm.
The weather service said driving conditions may be affected by spray, standing water or hail, leading to longer journey times by car and bus. Delays to train services are possible.
Lightning strikes may cause damage to a few buildings and structures, Met Office said. Flooding of homes and businesses is also likely, leading to some damage to buildings or structures.
