The Met Office has warned that March could bring snow as colder weather is expected. The forecaster is predicting a mild second half of February for the UK, with cold under clear skies forecast from Monday, February 13 until Friday, February 17 for the East Midlands with an average of 11C for the rest of the week in Nottingham.
Forecasters are waiting to see if March will bring a final Artic blast to the UK before the weather begins to warm in Spring. This blast is an annual weather event and due to sudden stratospheric warming, which can cause a delayed cold effect on the country in some instances. The after-effects can take anywhere from a fortnight to three weeks to take hold, reports The Daily Express.
Whilst there could be no impact on Britain, this Artic blast was responsible for the horrific snow storms experienced in 2018, known as the Beast from the East. Many long-range forecasts are bringing up the risk of snow showers for the nation in a matter of weeks, with the Met Office's outlook for the next month detailing a clear shift in weather patterns.
