There is a wintry feel to the weather in the far north of the UK in stark contrast to the sun and mild temperatures enjoyed in Bristol earlier. But while snow, sleet and rain is to hit Scotland on Sunday afternoon (April 23) according to the Met Office, Bristol has to prepare for some heavy rain on Monday.
There could also be a bit more rain in the city today, but this is likely to be light and stop by early evening. Temperatures, which felt warm in the morning sunshine, will peak at around 13C.
When it comes to Monday in Bristol, a dry and overcast morning could turn into a soggy afternoon with heavy rain forecast from noon with dry conditions returning by 9pm. Dry and sunny on Tuesday morning, before cloud rolls in for overcast conditions lasting until late on Thursday when rain returns around 7pm.

Temperatures in Bristol next week will reach a high of 16C by Friday, but will only climb to between `0C and 14C from Monday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday are looking mainly dry, with the odd sunny spell.
Met Office South West forecast
Across the wider South West, there could be some thundery spells on Sunday as winds start to build. Temperatures will be up to 13C and it will feel cool in the breeze.
The region will also see outbreaks of rain and showers, these perhaps heavy and locally thundery at times, the Met Office says.. Turning colder by the evening with clearing skies and a frost developing overnight and maximum temperatures of 14C.
It looks set to be drier on Tuesday with sunny spells. Cloudier with rain arriving from the southwest on Wednesday, with further outbreaks of rain possible on Thursday as winds remain light with temperatures recovering.

Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, May 6
On Thursday, outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, are expected to spread northeastwards. There is a chance of a few wintry showers in the far northeast, where temperatures will be below average. Into Friday and Saturday, unsettled showery conditions for many, particularly in northern areas. It is expected to become drier in more southern parts later in the weekend. Continuing through the rest of the period, conditions are likely to be predominantly dry across most of the UK. There is a low risk of strong winds initially, mainly in northern and western areas. Overall, temperatures will likely be below average to start in the far north but will increase to slightly above average through the period.

Potentially becoming more changeable and unsettled by the second week of May with a greater chance of rain compared to earlier in the month.
