Met Office snow and weather forecast for where you live in Greater Manchester

Greater Manchester, along with the rest of the UK, will see temperatures plummet over the coming week with snow readily on the horizon, the Met Office has said.

It was earlier predicted that in March there will be higher chances of cold conditions with "more organised rain or snow spreading south across the country". As we reach the second half of March, the Met Office predicts spells of rain and snow to be "much more likely" with some even potentially causing disruptions accompanied by "strong northerly winds".

A yellow weather warning of snow has been forecast for parts of the north east and Scotland for Monday and Tuesday - but it currently does not include Greater Manchester.

In the north west this weekend, it's likely to remain fairly cloudy, with some clear spells which might lead to slight frost. It’s expected to stay dry, though some showers are possible by morning, perhaps turning wintry on the hills. It’s likely to feel cold with a minimum temperature of 2C across the region.

On Sunday it’s forecast to be rather cloudy, and will feel cold especially around the coasts. The maximum temperature will be around 7C.

The Met Office has said that further showers are possible next week, these more readily falling as snow. There will be light winds overall, but briefly breezier on Monday evening. It’s likely to feel cold with widespread frost on Tuesday and Wednesday, and some snow is expected in our region on Friday.
