London sees warmest start to May on record as temperature hits 28C... and it's set to get even hotter

The UK has experienced its warmest start to May on record as the mercury hit 28C in Kew Gardens on Thursday afternoon, the Met Office has confirmed.

It eclipses the previous record of 27.4C set at Lossiemouth in Scotland in 1990.
