Bristol is set to be swept by sub-zero temperatures as cold as -3C in the coming days, according to the Met Office. A cold snap has settled over the city in recent days, with fog and cloud bringing a biting chill.
However, the freeze is not set to stop there, with further plunges in temperatures expected over the coming days. The mercury is set to hit 0C as soon as Wednesday (December 7).
However, the worst is set to land on Thursday, with temperatures plummeting into sub-zero on Thursday night and into Friday. The Met Office is predicting that the city's thermometers could sink as low as -3C.

The daily forecast headline for Thursday in Bristol currently indicates a low of -3C for Thursday (December 8), followed by a low of 0C for Friday. The breakdown of the forecast, however, seems to indicate a general temperature of -2C in the early hours of Friday, with the air feeling as cold as -5C.

Sunday:
Probably cloudier than today, but brief sunny intervals are likely. Showers are possible, these locally heavy in west Cornwall, but staying dry in places. Feeling cold in the easterly wind. Maximum temperature 6 °C.
Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Staying chilly and breezy next week. Showers are possible at times, particularly close to the south coast. Some sunny spells are however likely, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. Overnight frosts.
