The Met Office has forecast that heavy rain will hit Nottingham before sunny weather returns. A thunderstorms warning has been issued for Nottinghamshire, as well as many other parts of the country for Tuesday, June 20 The weather service said heavy rain would fall on the city during the morning of Tuesday, June 20, in contrast to recent pleasant weather.
The forecaster said it expected significant rainfall from 9am to 11am. It added there was a more than 95 per cent chance of rainfall at 9am, 90 per cent chance at 10am and 80 per cent chance at 11am. Heavy rain is already falling in parts of the county, including the Radcliffe on Trent and Bingham areas. The thunderstorms warning has now been extended to last until 6pm on Tuesday.
Temperatures during the morning are predicted to stay level at 16C. The Met Office said rainfall would decrease to a 'light' level as of 12 noon.

The afternoon hours are expected to be mostly overcast, later giving way at 6pm to sunny intervals. As the rain and clouds clear temperatures will increase, but with highs of 21C at 6pm it will not be as hot as previous days.
