A weather warning for more heavy rain and high winds has been issued for a large part of Wales. It comes after last week saw some areas flooded and dangerous driving conditions.
The yellow warning is in place for most of the country from 6pm on Monday (November 7) until midnight, and it looks set to be very unsettled for the rest of the week.
The warning states: "A band of rain and gusty winds will move east during Monday evening. For most this will simply be a period of normal, unpleasant autumn conditions.
"However, for some a short period of very heavy rain and very strong winds is possible bringing gusts of 50-60 mph temporarily and perhaps 70mph on some exposed coasts as well as 20mm of rain within an hour. There is also a chance of hail and lightning in a few places as an additional hazard."
The areas covered in Wales by the warning are:
- Blaenau Gwent
- Bridgend
- Caerphilly
- Cardiff
- Carmarthenshire
- Ceredigion
- Gwynedd
- Isle of Anglesey
- Merthyr Tydfil
- Monmouthshire
- Neath Port Talbot
- Newport
- Pembrokeshire
- Powys
- Rhondda Cynon Taf
- Swansea
- Torfaen
- Vale of Glamorgan
The Met Office forecast for Wales today says: "It will be a mostly cloudy day on Monday with outbreaks of rain at times, especially in the south and west. Becoming increasingly windy with coastal gales developing later. Feeling mild again. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
"A band of heavy rain and very strong, gusty winds will move east overnight, with clear spells and blustery showers following. A mild night for all. Minimum temperature 9 °C.."
The outlook for the rest of the week says: " A rather windy day on Tuesday with scattered blustery, at times heavy, showers and a risk of thunder. There will be some bright or sunny spells too. Maximum temperature 14 °C.
