The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for fog covering south east Wales with visibility expected to be severely reduced in parts. The warning, which is has been put in place from 4am to 11am on Thursday, December 1, warns visibility could be less than 50 meters in some areas.
The warning comes after temperatures finally dipped across the country as we enter December, dipping to - 3°C overnight in some areas. The warning was issued just after 1am to come into force a few hours later and the forecaster said that the fog is expected to thin towards late morning.
The warning reads: "Not everywhere will experience fog, but where fog patches do develop, they are likely to become dense in some places with visibility less than 100 metres, and perhaps less than 50 metres in a few spots. The fog will slowly thin towards late morning but may persist into the afternoon in some areas."

The Met Office warns that fog patches will cause difficult driving conditions and perhaps some travel disruption, including slower journey times with delays to bus and train services possible and there is a chance of delays or cancellations to flights.

Mist and fog patches will be slow to clear in the east this morning, but it should be a dry and bright afternoon for most. Feeling chilly, particularly where any fog lingers into the afternoon. Maximum temperature 7 °C. Mist and fog patches will quickly reform after dark, with some dense patches in the east. A cold night with a frost developing for many. Minimum temperature -3 °C.
Friday:
Fog will slowly clear through Friday morning to leave a dry day with sunny spells. Some fog patches may persist in the east where it will feel cold. Maximum temperature 7 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Turning colder over the weekend in a brisk easterly wind. Sunny spells and largely dry on Saturday. Cloudier on Sunday and Monday with showers, turning wintry over hills.
