A YELLOW weather warning for heavy rain has been issued by the Met Office for most of Scotland next week.
The forecaster said that heavy rain may bring “significant disruption” in the build up to Hogmanay next week.
The warning will be in place from 12am on Monday, December 30 and be in place until 11pm on Tuesday, December 31.
In terms of what to expect, the Met Office said there is a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses in the affected areas.
It added that there is also a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded and warned that it could cause damage to some buildings.
The forecaster said there is also a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services if flooding does occur.
In a statement on its website the Met Office also said: “There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life”.
Adding that spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures, they said there is also a chance that some communities will become cut off due to flooding.
