A yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued for London this weekend - as the recent heatwave is expected to be broken by heavy rain.
London is due to stay “very warm” and dry on Saturday before being hit by thunderstorms on Sunday, which the Met Office says could bring “torrential downpours”.
Despite the stormy conditions, the capital is expected to stay “very warm, with an increasingly humid feel”, says the Met Office.

Much of next week will then see the chance of more showers, though temperatures are temperature expected to stay in the mid-20s.
It comes after a recent heatwave has left Londoners basking in dry, sunny weather and temperatures soaring to above 30C.
Parts of Kent and Sussex have been left with little or no water this week amid the hot weather, forcing schools to shut and residents to get drinking water from bottled water stations, and leading to a hosepipe ban introduced on Friday.
Sunday’s heavy rain and thunderstorms could cause sudden flooding and power cuts on Sunday, the forecaster warned, issuing a yellow weather warning covering all of England and Wales.
There is a small chance homes and businesses could be flooded quickly and buildings could be damaged from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds, it warned.
There could also be delays or cancellations to trains and buses where flooding or lightning strikes happen and there is a slight chance some communities may be cut off by flooded roads.
