The warning covers parts of south-west Scotland, including Dumfries and Galloway.

In terms of what to expect, the Met Office said there would be “persistent rain, heavy at times, over south-west Scotland on Tuesday which may cause some local flooding and travel disruption”.

It said that the “flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible” and that “spray and flooding on roads” could lead to longer journey times.

The forecaster added that bus and train services would “probably” be affected.
