Merseyside has been issued with a yellow weather warning ahead of the Big Jubilee Lunch on Sunday.
Thunderstorms are set to plague the final day of the Platinum Jubilee weekend when the majority of street parties are expected to take place up and down the region. The Met Office has now issued a formal warning to those living in the majority of England and Wales.
The warning will start at midnight tonight and lasts until 6pm tomorrow for much of the country as people are expected to come together to celebrate 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II. Many were concerned that the warning would come into effect today as the Jubilee concert takes place in front of 22,000 spectators outside the gates of Buckingham Palace but it looks to have missed it by a matter of hours.
