The Met Office has issued another weather warning for rain as the unsettled weather continues. There are currently nine flood alerts in place across Wales with the rain set to fall on already saturated ground.
The forecasting agency is warning of "heavy and persistent" rain though Friday night and into Saturday morning.
It comes after week of weather alerts that has seen flooding parts of mid and west Wales following heavy rainfall. Firefighters have carried out rescues after people were left stranded in cars and a number of flood alerts have been issued.

A massive search resumed on Friday morning (January 6) for a woman who is missing after an incident at a Welsh beauty spot. The body of another woman was recovered from a waterfall, while the search continues for a second woman.
The new yellow warning, that is in place from midnight until 9am on Saturday, says: "Over six to nine hours, many places are expected to see 20-30 mm of rainfall, with around 50-60 mm falling over higher ground."
The Met Office forecast for the whole of Wales says: "The evening will begin mostly dry with some clear intervals. However, outbreaks of increasingly persistent and locally heavy rain will move eastwards across the country overnight, accompanied by local gales. Minimum temperature 8 °C.
"Saturday will start wet and windy. Rain will clear eastwards during the morning, replaced by a mix of sunshine and scattered blustery showers for the afternoon. Maximum temperature 11 °C."
The areas in Wales covered by the yellow warning are:
- Blaenau Gwent
- Bridgend
- Caerphilly
- Cardiff
- Carmarthenshire
- Ceredigion
- Merthyr Tydfil
- Monmouthshire
- Neath Port Talbot
- Newport
- Powys
- Rhondda Cynon Taf
- Swansea
- Torfaen.
On Friday morning (January 6), Natural Resources Wales has nine flood alerts in place. They are on the River Wye in Powys, in Upper a and Lower Towy, on the River Dee at Bangor on Dee, in the Upper Dee catchment area, the River Dee in the Lower Dee Valley and Vyrnwy catchment.
The Met Office outlook for Wales says: "Sunday and Monday will both be mixed with sunshine and further blustery showers. Turning a little colder too. However, milder, wet and still windy weather will develop on Tuesday."
